Prayer Ministry in Your Fellowship

The following are suggestions to help you keep prayer in focus in your United Methodist Men’s Fellowship meetings and activities.

  1. Remember the importance of having prayer walls at special events
  2.  Remember National Day of Prayer-first Thursday in May
  3. Remember to have a special prayer on Veteran’s Day, November 11
  4. Remember to schedule a remote prayer line at least twice per year
  5. Remember to attend at least one prayer event per year
  6. Remember to pray with and for your pastor prior to each sermon.
  7. Remember to choose and pray with your prayer partner daily.  REMEMBER YOUR FELLOWSHIP can become a prayer COVENANT GROUP.

We receive the power of the Holy Spirit when we seek to understand and follow His will as we humble ourselves in prayer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Upper Room Living Prayer Center

The Upper Room® Living Prayer Center is a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week intercessory prayer ministry staffed by Christian volunteers. When you call, a person will answer the phone, receive your prayer request, and pray with you. After your call, your prayer concern will be forwarded to one of 300 Upper Room Covenant Prayer Groups located all over the world. When you submit a prayer request using this web page, your request will be e-mailed to the Prayer Center within 24 hours and sent out to Upper Room Covenant Prayer Groups as well. More than 30,000 prayer requests are received each month.

To protect the privacy of those requesting prayer, each request is edited before it is sent to Covenant Prayer Groups. The request is edited to remove any information that would identify the person or situation needing prayer.

The Living Prayer Center is a partnership of national scope, whereby United Methodist Men participate in strengthening the ministry of prayer in the church.  Men promote the Living Prayer Center toll-free phone number (1-800-251-2468) throughout their church community.  In addition, men actually participate with the Prayer Center by forming covenant prayer groups, serving on diverter lines for regular two-hour periods each week and conducting remote prayer centers at special events.   The North Georgia Conference UMM mans the Upper Room Remote Prayer Center every year  at Rock Eagle and would welcome volunteers attending Rock Eagle to help with this ministry.  Your fellowship can also man the Prayer Center.
